The written tests measure their mental aptitude, psychological standing, and inteligence quotients. IQ test include English Proficiency, Abstract Reasoning, and Numerical and Technical Knowledge. The trade tests as well as computer based test on the other hand, measure their capability in handling the work they are applying for.
Applicants who pass the tests go through a series of interviews for the assessment of their personalities and attitudes. Applicants who prove excellent in the tests are interviewed by the recruitment officer, Port Captain or Port Engr and Operations manager of PASCOR. These series of interviews are a testing ground as to the social and psychological make-up of the applicants. The principal has the option to conduct personal or telephone conversations with the applicants who pass the interviews with PASCOR.
